Marlow downstream to Windsor with Salters Steamers
(not landing at Windsor)

Depart Higginson Park, Marlow SL7 2AE
10.30am for a cruise of about 6 or 7 hours
Following our recent cruises from Oxford to Reading and from Reading to Marlow, we are now offering the third leg of our Thames cruises, from Marlow to Windsor. This is complicated because Salters` no longer have a mooring at Windsor. We cannot land there. We will stop at various points en-route allowing everyone to stretch their legs. To land at Windsor would require changing from a Salters` boat to a French`s boat at Maidenhead. This is not a practical option. (If we continue downstream of Windsor next year it will be on a French's boat.)
It is about 14 miles to Windsor with 5 locks including Boulter's Lock at Maidenhead. There are many mansions en-route including Cliveden. The River is not particularly wide there is always plenty to see: Bourne End, Cookham and Bray for example.
The cruise will be on a traditional boat with an enclosed Saloon, toilets and, a Credit/Debit Card Only bar. The departure/landing place is about 20 minutes walk from Marlow railway station with an hourly service to Maidenhead. Parking is available at the Leisure Centre adjacent to Higginson Park. There is a bus service every 20 minutes between High Wycombe and Reading via Marlow.
Return time to Marlow will be subject to other traffic on the River. In case of bad weather or late running it may be possible to leave the Cruise at Maidenhead to pick up a train or bus there.
Prices:
CCA Members £55
Non Members £60
